Psalm 60    1O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.    2Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.    3Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.    4Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.    5That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.    6God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.    7Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;    8Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.    9Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?    10Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?    11Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.    12Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Romans 12:9-21:

   9Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.    10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;    11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;    12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;    13Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.    14Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.    15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.    16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.    17Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.    18If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.    19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.    20Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.    21Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

   Thessalonians 3:1-5                   For Aug 5th, 2009

3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.
  3But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 4And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you.
   5 Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

           Galations 6:1-4                    for Aug 4, 2009
 6 Bethren, if man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of "gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of christ. 3 For if any one thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he decieves himself. 4 But let each ine examine hi own , and then he will have rejoicing in himslf alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.

  Habakkuk 2:1-4,          For Aug 3, 2009

The burden which is prophet Habakkuk saw.
2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even Cry out to You, "Violence!" And You will not save.
3 Why so You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? for Plundering and violence are before me;
There is strife, and contention arises.
4 Therefore the law is powerless, And justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore perverse judgement proceeds.

          James 5:19-20               For Aug 2, 2009
19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

   1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.    2Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;    3Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.    4There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.    5God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.    6The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.    7The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.    8Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.    9He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.    10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.    11The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
